Iphoto 10.5.8 Mac OS X Server 10The product is based on Firefox released versions. Apple on Wednesday released the latest update to Mac OS X Leopard, version 10.5.8, which improves the reliability of key features such as AirPort wireless networking and Bluetooth while also fixing disappearing display resolutions in System Preferences.Included in the 10.5.8 update is the latest version of Apple’s Safari Web browser, version 4.0.2, which was first released last month, as well as an improvement for full-history searches in the browser. In addition to the AirPort improvements, Mac OS X 10.5.8 features a number of other network-related fixes, such as improved iCal reliability with MobileMe Sync and CalDav, improved data reliability issues with iDisk and MobileMe, overall improvements to AFP reliability, and improved Sync Service reliability. On the device front, the update brings additional RAW image support for third-party cameras, improved compatibility with some external USB hard drives, a fix for an issue that could prevent importing large photo and movie files from digital cameras, and the aforementioned Bluetooth improvements for external devices, USB Web cameras, and printers. The 10.5.8 update also addresses an issue that could cause extended startup times and fixes a problem with dragging Aperture images into Automator, which had been incorrectly triggering an iPhoto action. There are a number of security fixes in OS X 10.5.8 as well, including patches to bzip compression, a fix for buffer overflow issue in ColorSync, improved error handling for launchd, and a fix for MobileMe not signing out properly. Another issue—also resolved in this batch of security fixes—could have allowed someone with physical access to a computer to circumvent a screen saver password through the use of the MacBook’s four-finger gesture controls.Apple also released Mac OS X Server 10.5.8 Update, which improves the reliability of AFP for file services and Time Machine backups, maintains a history of user’s previous passwords, propagates file system permissions, and improves Spotlight indexing and memory consumption.Mac OS X 10.5.8 is recommended for all Leopard users. I tried to download 8.1 but it said it was too strong.Too bad for you!Apple fixed things so that version 9.6 was not going to launch under Yosemite, so many iPhoto fans, who did not check in at the App Store to download the final upgrade before the window abruptly closed, got angry and cursed Apple for leaving them in the lurch. If you could not manage to download version 9.6.1 while it was still available through the App Store, you were out-of-luck. It is their game, and you have to play by their rules, they were saying. You just never know if that window will soon crash right on top of your hands.BEWARE: iPhoto 9.5 removes the Home Sharing Feature! No, no, no Apple! Why did you kill the Home Sharing feature? With smaller SSDs in our Macs, and no storage in our ATV2, we need to locally share a Master library from a Mac with a higher storage capacity. So, if you want version 9.6.1 of iPhoto, you better grab it while you still can. The "temporary" freeze-out appears to have ended. Now, all those diehard iPhoto fans—some of whom complained that they were unable to access their treasure trove of images—can get off their knees: their prayers have been answered. However, these humble supplicants should not overlook the lesson: you never know how long the download window will remain open. I was among that group who tried, but failed, to download that final upgrade.Well, the frustration is over, because today, as always, I clicked on iPhoto listing in the Updates tab of the App Store, and, to my surprise and delight, the upgrade to version 9.6.1 of iPhoto actually began to download! I just installed it on the Yosemite partition of my Mac Pro, and it launched just fine. When they tried to download the iPhoto update, all they would get was a cryptic message saying that the file was "temporarily unavailable." This frustration went on for about six months. Most features look great in the commercial-like videos, but in reality they don't really work. In the beginning, iPhoto is a nice app, everything looks polished and handy, but if you are a long-time-user and you've had to rebuild your library several times after many upgrades, you start loosing hope that Apple get's this right at some point… Apple seems to be more interested in presenting new features (to attract new buyers) than maintaining the app. It's just taking too much time to keep my stuff in order with iPhoto. But that stopped working a while ago.I really wish there was a decent alternative to this degraded iPhoto as they have degraded Aperture as well!I have used iPhoto for years, however I am just in the process of going back to sort my photos in the Finder. Likewise, when will they bring the small floating Info pane back instead of forcing us to use up all the screen real estate on the left and ultimately see less of our images? Finally, I so miss the fast, brilliant old Keyword Manager by Bullstorm for iPhoto. Did Apple remove Home Sharing to make us pay more for an expanded iCloud storage - me thinks so!Also, why did they replace the search field with a stupid search button that when clicked just expands into the search field? Pointless animation. - iPhoto is just not up to that. Meaning, you actually shoot the photos you add to iPhoto. If you just collect photos from all over the places - websites, friends, etc. Right now, iPhoto is only great if you use it as a personal photo library. The prior version if iPhoto worked fine.So a suggestion, steer clear of 9.4 for the moment.I wish Apple would create an organizer app for graphics in general - not just photos. Did find:/Library/Frameworks/NyxAudioAnalysis.framework/Versions/A/NyxAudioAnalysis: mach-o, but wrong architectureThis issue has occurred on both my 2010 iMac (10,1 version) and my 2011 Mac mini. Many issues show up in Console, including Binary Images problems, LIbrary's no found, for example:Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/NyxAudioAnalysis.framework/Versions/A/NyxAudioAnalysisReferenced from: /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/Frameworks/iLifeSlideshow.framework/Versions/A/iLifeSlideshowReason: no suitable image found. Now it is changed to non resizable bar to the right of your screen. IPhoto'11 is just rebuild interface of previous version with "better" full screen mode, which in fact gives you SMALLER preview of photo you are working on than it was before! With iPhoto'09 all tools were located on sliding in/out toolbars. This should be a real shame for Apple for releasing such memory hungry applications with ancient technology. Also, iPhoto'11 looks "new", but in fact all what changed are new slideshow themes and new ways to socialise your ugly face photos on Facebook or Flickr. How am I supposed to find something in there? Why not allow me to set the "Last" to a day? What will happen if you give me such power? Am I going to crash the world's economy by setting the filter to a day?I am highly disappointed with current release of iLife mostly because of untouched iWeb, but also with changes to iPhoto. For a start - iLife '11 apps are still 32-bit only. Really, Apple? I'm adding thousands of new photos a month. Even though you only have the same person on all of them.Another mind-boggling illogical thinking of Apple.- In the "Recents" you can only set the "Last " as low as 1 month. Logic pro free download macEvents seemed like a great idea when they were released in iPhoto 08 but the trouble with them is that you can't put events inside of other events. If you are not ordering books, or are not slideshow heavy maker - just stick to iPhoto'09 and spend that money on anything else.IPhoto has a long ways to go before becoming a great organizer. Not single new/enhanced effect! All editing is untouched comparing to previous version (only with changed UI)In my opinion paying $49 for couple of new slideshow themes and new books formats (which I can't order as Apple do not sell to my country at all) is just pointless. Amazing, how nice idea can be done so wrong.Secondly - there is single change to photo editing tools. When this happens everything becomes one large event, it doesn't maintain the groups of the events you merge together.
